Netflix is working on a One Piece Live Action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s popular pirate adventure manga series, ‘One Piece.’ The series is produced by Tomorrow Studios, the same studio behind Netflix’s “Cowboy Bebop” adaptation.
Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the beloved pirate adventure manga series will be so fantastic with creator Oda.
“We have been working very closely with Oda Sensei. So, we’re going to get started, and this one’s huge. I mean, Snowpiercer is a great production; It’s even bigger,” executive producer Marty Adelstein teased in an interview with Syfy.
There’s no need to linger anymore, here’s everything we know about the live-action One Piece adaptation.
‘One Piece’ Story: What Is This Anime/Manga About?
‘One Piece’ is set in an alternate version of the world during the Pirate Golden Age, when ruthless and powerful sea robbers rule the seas. The pirates are on a quest to find a mythical treasure known as ‘One Piece’ left behind by Gol D. Roger, the greatest pirate of his time so nicknamed the Pirate King.
Years after Gol D. Roger’s death, a boy named Monkey D. Luffy (also known as Luffy the Straw Hat) dreams of finding ‘One Piece’ and becoming the next Pirate King.
To do so, he must assemble his crew and sail through the treacherous seas together.
Luffy has a special ability to transform his body like a rubber that has incredible agility and strength (thanks to the devil fruit he ate when he was a child). When he finally matured, Luffy left Foosha Village in East Blue to pursue his dream of becoming the next Pirate King.
Netflix Series One Piece Live Action When Is Released?
The live-action series has been in production for some time, but Netflix still can’t officially announce when its release date will be. Eiichiro Oda and Netflix have asked fans to remain patient.
“I know I announced this production in 2017, but it takes time! Preparations are slowly progressing behind the scenes, and it seems I can finally make a big announcement:
“Netflix, the world’s leading streaming entertainment service, will lend us their incredible production support! It’s so exhilarating!! How far has the story progressed over 10 episodes of Season 1? Who will play a role!? Please be patient a little longer and stay on!! ”
Live-action serial production decreased significantly due to the pandemic. They were supposed to start filming in the summer of 2020 in Cape Town in South Africa, but that was postponed.
In June 2020, a list from Production Weekly revealed that the live-action ‘One Piece’ will begin filming on August 31, 2020, and is scheduled to be completed on February 8, 2021.
But until now when this post I published there is still no official confirmation when Netflix will air One Piece Lice Action. My prediction is not far missed by the end of 2021. Let’s just wait.
How Many Episodes Will Netflix’s Live-Action Adaptation of ‘One Piece’? Will there be more seasons in the future?
The upcoming One Piece live-action series adaptation will have 10 episodes. Although Netflix hasn’t announced anything yet, a second season is very likely to also be released given a large number of sources of material available.
There are currently 95 manga volumes, and it’s impossible to cover them all in just a few seasons, right?
Season 1 will feature the recruitment of Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji. The season will end with a fight between Luffy and Arlong.
Who is One Piece Live Action?
No official casting has been confirmed yet, although there have been many rumors.
Emily Rudd has been listed on the IMDb page for a while now, but there has been no official confirmation of her casting. Knowing that anyone can update the IMDB page, it is possible that this information was only prepared by fans and could be inaccurate.
Oda’s Involvement in One Piece Live-Action
Anime fans have always been skeptical when it comes to western live-action adaptations, and I can’t fault them either. Moreover, it would be very annoying to see adaptations that deviate from the source of the material.
Luckily for ‘One Piece,’ creator Eiichiro Oda is heavily involved in the upcoming live-action series adaptation.
“Oda and his team are very involved. They read our outlines and all our scripts and gave us notes,” Matt Owens, one of the series’ lead writers, said during the streaming show The Reverie.
“It’s always been a conversation between us and Oda and his team. We always go back to the source of the material,” Owens added.
“Netflix knows how valuable this property is because of what it is. He was successful because of his existence. Any changes are just about trying to make it suitable for a wider audience as well as on its live-action version. There’s no change going on because it’s like, ‘Oh, I don’t like Arlong fights…’ There’s nothing like it.”
Are you looking forward to this Live-Action ‘One Piece’? Same, admin is too. Very curious about the treat from Netflix for a popular Anime level One Piece made Live Action.
